Rinpoche completed his first month-long retreat when he was 9 years old. For the past 70 years, in addition to completing the traditional long retreat, Rinpoche has spent significant time meditating in solitary retreat and still do so frequently.
Rinpoche has found and opened many Guru Rinpoche caves in the Ladakh region that have become popular pilgrimages for devotees from near and far.
